so happy to be here in cali, i missed the weather, waves and vibe of my 2nd country! i am staying at my dad's place, surfing all day and playing music. its the first stop of my around the world trip. im staying 2 weeks and the hawaii, australia, bali and back home in april.

voila une petite video que j'ai faite d' Andre Silva, lors de notre dernier voyage au maroc.

On n'a pas eu trop de vague pendant ce trip, mais j'ai eu des souvenirs d'un voyage que j'ai fait au meme endroit, il y a 2 ans avec Roxy. On a eu pleins de parutions dans les magazines et les photos donnent l'impression d'un trip de reve. Mais en verite, ca a ete pour nous toute une aventure pleine de rebondissements. On n'a pas eu une journee sans que quelque chose arrive, par exemple, qu'un des 4x4 soit engloutis par la mer, ou que kassia se trompe de chemin et descende une falaise avec le second 4x4. On a eu le plus gros swell de la decennie, on a casse toutes les planches, nos vetements ne sont jamais arrives. Tout le groupe m'a oublie a l'hotel a Marrakesh le dernier jour. On est restees dans un endroit sans eau ni electricite pendant 3 jours. On a dormi 3h par nuit. Et apres tout ca, Jen a decide de rester 2 semaines de plus! cette fille est folle. Enfin malgre toutes ces peripethie, j'ai appris enormement et on a eu des supers vagues, donc je le referai volontier si je devais.

Hey, here comes the end of the year again and I have to say it goes faster every year.. time flies when you have fun and 2011 was a really interesting year for me, not really full of contest results, but full of surprises and change in my life. I have a feeling 2012 is going to be great and can't wait! Thanks to everyone who's been supporting me through this blog. Happy new year to you all.

I just went to get 2 old rolls developed. one was from my holga and had these shots in it.
I did them on trips last year. brasil-australia- brasil- bali.

Here are a few photos that Raimundo Cavalcante made during a session. I've been back for 2 days and I already miss all my Brasilian friends. I guess it's how it is when you travel, you have like a new little family on every trip you make.
Right now I have a ton of paperwork to do before I leave again, but the video will be coming soon!

et pour tous les francais desolee de ne pas ecrire plus souvent en francais mais c'est juste que j'ai souvent la flemme d'ecrire 2 fois la meme chose et ceux qui parlent anglais me demandent une traduction. Mais la je viens de rentrer en France, il fait frisquet apres le Bresil mais ca va, de toute facon j'ai pleins de choses tres ennuyeuses a faire donc je suis presque contente qu'il fasse mauvais. Et aussi j'ai vu "Hollywoo" hier je le recommande a tout le monde tres bon film.
Je mettrai bientot une video du dernier voyage a Fortaleza. J'espere que tout le monde va bien, a bientot!

Here are a couple of photos from Titanzinho, Fortaleza. I've been here for a week already. We are making a little video about what's been going on since we made the movie Titan Kids. There's been some good changes so we would like to show that. I will be staying here until Dec. 10th and then I'm going back home. So a few more days in the sun and then I'll be back in the cold! It's okay I kinda like cold weather during Christmas time.

Mentawaii Trip with Roxy

Just got back from a really good trip to the Mentawaiis, Indonesia. It is not really the best season to score waves over there but we got pretty lucky and had 3 really fun swells. We stayed on the land-camp at Kandui for the 1st week, and the second week we stayed on a boat. Mentawaiis is pretty much the dream destination for any surfer, it was my third time over there and it is still as fun. We were a really fun crew with kelia moniz, bruna schmitz, sally fitzgibbons, kassia meador, monica byrne-wickey, rosy hodge and many more.. here's a couple of photos and I will make a little video soon...

Im sorry I didnt give news for such a long time. Since last time I posted on this blog, I did that show for eurosport that was pretty fun. As soon as they give me the stuff I did I will post it on this blog. It was like some backstage footage that people wouldn't see normally, I was shooting with a little go pro which made it easy.
Right now Im in NY with my friend Christina from Troprouge (fashion blog).
She used to live in Biarritz and her family is like a second family to me. We're playing a lot of music so I will try to post some of the stuff we do soon.
That's it but I will post interesting stuff soon I hope.

Bonjour A tous
Je suis en France en ce moment, j'ai decidé de ne pas aller aux Açores pour la derniere compet' de l'annee vu que dans tous les cas je ne pourrai pas me qualifier. Je suis plutot contente de ce choix car on a eu une semaine de vagues parfaites, et que j'ai pu faire quelques photos avec Greg Rabejac. Apparement les filles ont été lancées dans des conditions médiocres aux Açores (50 cm et beaucoup de vent). Donc pas de regret!
Le Quik Pro France va bientot commencer et il me tarde car en général les vagues sont au rendez vous pour cette compétition. En plus je vais presenter une chronique sur Eurosport dans le premier talk show dediée au surf. Je n'ai jamais fait ça avant donc j'espere que je vaincrai ma timidité ! Ca devrait etre une bonne experience...

Well, that was the last WQS of the year for me. As Im not going to qualify I don't see the point in going to the Azores anymore.
My heat was another frustrating one, got from 2nd to 3rd at the end, needed a 3,31pt, managed to get a little wave, did something pretty lame on it. Judges hesitated, gave me a 3.27. pretty sure I didn't deserve the score though.
Losing is always the same you feel like dying for a few minutes and then you realize life goes on. Im happy this year is over contest-wise, so i can start fresh next year. And until then surf good waves and do a few things I really want to do.
America is calling me, I will go there for the winter, maybe record a few songs with my friends Christina and Philip, surf Rincon, go to hawaii.
All that should be really fun and I can't wait to start. But now Im going home to get everything sorted before I leave, and enjoy the best season for surfing in France.
Ahhh stoked this shitty contest season is over! I can only go better from here…

Here I am in Portugal again ! it's crazy how many times I come here every year I feel I know this place better than home now !
We went to my friend Vico's wedding last week end and decided to come to Ericeira after. It was a good idea, perfect waves were waiting for us at Coxos and Peniche... Love this place so much, probably some of the best waves in Europe, good food, pretty cheap accomodation, nice people.. We have to head to Pantin (Spain) tomorrow for a WQS but I wish I could stay for the end of this swell !

adventure time in sri lanka

the contest went down pretty average for me and a few of my friends so we decided to go explore a little more of Sri Lanka.
We booked a ticket to take the seaplane the next day. We rocked up at the "airport" that was pretty much just a tent, a few locals came to see the plane go. It was really fun to be only us 4 in a plane, a really cool way to travel. Arrived in Colombo we waited 2 hours for the taxi driver who was lost…
Then he finally got there and we had to fit all of us five and the boards in his car. Definitely a trip I will remember. Now next stop Kandi, i will write again for the rest of the story !

I arrived a few days ago in Arugam Bay to prepare for the Sri Lankan Airlines pro. Im staying at a really cool place on the beach, 100 meters away there is a good righthand point. I really like that wave even though it's been kinda crowded with hungry competitors and other surfers
Yesterday me, Nicola Atherton and Helene went to another spot called Peanut Farm, with our new friend Amilia, a local guy. We jumped in a Took Took (not sure thats how you write it ), got there and surfed fun rights by ourselves. Then we met a guy who apparently knows Mantras to make elephants run away. They were probably bullshitting us though.
This is probably one of the most different places from home I've ever been to, and it's cool to discover that culture even though sometimes you have to adapt! Like it's kinda weird for people to see girls in bikinis at the beach so yesterday someone kind of attacked Alana. But she's all good.. Anyway.
The comp is starting tomorrow, not sure if we will surf first because there is a longboard contest too.

Just got back from the cooks, well actually it was a week ago. The trip was really nice, we had a really fun crew with all the people workin at roxy and riders Bruna Schmitz and Kelia Moniz. The island is like a little paradise, except... we didn't find waves to surf! we took the boat twice all around the island and only found some death close outs on the coral. But it is part of the exploration, sometimes you get a good surprise and sometimes you don't.
I am back at home and going to get ready for next 6 star WQS in Sri lanka at the end of the month. Can't wait to get there!

Time is running fast these days, just got over with the roxy pro and boardrider's week, and I am heading tomorrow to the cook island, other side of the world for a roxy shoot. It's a last minute trip so i didn't really have time to realize i'm leaving but it should be a fun trip. No idea about the waves there! Hopefully we score.

Day 6: a good day for Surf And Hope

Today we had the Charity Surf at the Roxy Pro, right before the longboarding finals. So many great french athletes were here and there was a really fun vibe, they all got waves and had a good time.

At the end of the day we got a 10 000 euro check for Surf And Hope which is amazing, it's going to help so much.

It was also the day of the results of the Anglet Surf Film Festival, where the movie "Titan Kids" got the Jury's Special Price so another really good surprise. The kids will be stoked to see their movie won something in France.

Ca y est la competes est fini, j'avais les boules de perdre mais bon c'etait contre Pauline et elle a fait demi donc au final je suis contente pour elle. Il y a eu du super surf et des bonnes vagues, et apres pleins de rebondissements Carissa remporte le titre mondial, et Stephanie gagne la competition.
C'etait un suoer evenement et demain il y a la finale des longboardeuses donc on va aller encourager Justine.

Day 2 started with small waves and I had a difficult heat but managed to make it so I was stoked. Definitely didn't surf great but it did the job and I'm stoked to be in Rd 3.
In the evening I played music at the Ventilo Cafe with Justine Mauvier, Steph Gilmore, my friends Christina and Philip, the Ginettes Cartons and many more. It was a fun day and I'm looking forward to the rest of the comp!

Haven't really written for a while, I've just been training a lot at home for the WT, we've had some fun waves and I'm feeling ready for the comp! it's going to be a huge week, my two sponsors Roxy and Orange are organizing the event and it's at my hometown so I will be busy! It's going to be a challenge to stay focused on the contest but I' getting organized for that!
I'll surf in heat 3 with Carissa Moore world n1 and Mel Bartels, so a really good heat to start with!

La Rat's Cup avec ALC.TV

Voila la video de la Rat's Cup de cet annee, c'est la competition des locaux de la cote des basques. Cette compete est organisee tous les etes et c'est une occasion de tous se retrouver, surfer toute la journee, manger les sandwitch de Norah, et faire la fete.
Ce sont les surfeurs qui jugent les series, et a partir des 1/4 de finals "man on man" on doit boire un verre de punch avant chaque serie... Je suis arrivee en demi ou j'ai perdu contre Manu Portet, qui a ensuite gagne. C'etait super de retrouver tout le monde et on a eu des tres bonnes vagues.. Merci a ALC.TV d'avoir fait cette video!

This is the video from the "Rat's Cup", a contest all the locals of my homebreak organise. We just hang out all day, surf, judge heats and have a good time. From the quarter finals to the final you have to drink a gass of punch before each heat... doesn't make the surfing easier but i guess it makes you loosen up! We got sick waves and I got third, lost in the semi against Manu Portet who won the comp.
Glad I didn't stay too long for the party, the guys went crazy! Check out the vid....

I got this little pink Holga camera on the california shoot in february, tried it a little bit on my trip in Fortaleza right after and then kinda forgot about that roll until I found it last week. I took it to develop and didn't really know what to expect as I am far from being a good photographer! but I got a couple of cool stuff in the end so i'm pretty stoked!

Hey all,
Just wanted to give news about the foundation Surf And Hope I'm doing with my boyfriend, we are going to do a bunch of things for the Roxy Pro Biarritz (July 11-17).
First we are launching a sunglass model with Roxy, 5 euros per pair of shades sold will go to the foundation (see on the photo)
Also we are going to show the movie Titan Kids (see trailer below) on July 12th in Biarritz and organise a "tombola" to win Steph Gilmore's board.
I think the last thing will be a celebrity tag team organized and money will go to the foundation.
I will be giving some updates a little before the event so if any of you is in Biarritz it would be cool if you came chek it out!
and thanks to quiksilver foundation for helping our project the kids really need it!

Je suis rentree du portugal hier dans la nuit, Guincho n'a pas ete une tres bonne competition pour moi, je n'ai pas vraiment eu l'occasion de m'exprimer dans ces vagues donc c'etait un peu frustrant mais mon copain Andre a fait un bon run juste apres a Ericeira ce qui a ete le petit + du voyage. On a eu des supers vagues a Ribeira et Coxos, donc beaucoup de surf pour ces derniers jours. A partir de demain je vais commencer a m'entrainer pour le Roxy Pro Biarritz, j'espere vraiment utiliser cette occasion pour retrouver un bon rythme en compet' sans pression et utiliser ma connaissance du spot pour passer des tours! Ca va etre super de surfer un WT a la maison donc pendant les 20 prochains jours je vais surfer tous les jours a Biarritz pour etre en forme le jour J!

I've been in portugal fro 3 day and my comp is starting tomorrow. The waves are good for this break and not too windy, and I hope I can do a good result here if I want to stay in contention for qualifying this year!
I'll be focused on getting a good rythm from the start of the heat which has been my problem this season, and we'll see how it works!

I was with Sally and we randomly met up there with Bethany Hamilton, Pauline Ado, Amandine Sanchez, Maud Le Car and Jessi Miley Dyer, so we just took over the spot! (haha not really though the waves were kinda shitty)

Roland Garros - II

This is the post from Paris two weeks ago I didn't have time to post it cause of the contest but now i do... It was a really fun trip with Sally, her Mom Mary, Kamila and Marie-O... I can't believe we only spent 3 days there we did so many things it seemed to be 2 weeks!
So first I am going to talk about the little tennis lesson we got with Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
The Hotshot team had mad the reservation of the court on top of the "Galleries Lafayette". We arrived earlier than Bethanie and they started filming us so everybody thought me and Sally were professional tennis players, they were taking photos of us and stuff so it was kinda funny when we started playing they all laughed and left.. haha
Bethanie arrived and showed us a few moves that really helped, and we played a double against her and for some reason we won, I mean she let us win haha. But definitely it gave us a little tennis fever and I want to play more now.
The next day we went to watch our new friend playing in one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, Roland Garros... We took banners and all and cheered on her and after some nerve-racking moments she ended up winning. We were really stoked for her and it's an inspiration to watch such great athletes from that close, before the Swatch Girls pro next week it was cool to get motivated with all that good energy.
For the rest, we did some touristy things, visited Paris and ate great food.

Voila le petit sejour a Paris de la semaine derniere avec Sally et sa maman, Marie-O, Kamila. On a eu la chance de pouvoir jouer au tennis avec une des meilleures tennis women du monde Bethanie Mattek-Sands, puis on est allees voir son match le lendemain (qu'elle a gagne apres quelques moments un peu stressants!)
On a joue sur les toits des galleries Lafayette et tous les gens croyaient que Sally et moi etions des pros, et nous prenaient en photo.. mais quand on a commence a jouer bizarrement tout le monde est parti!
J'ai aussi eu la chance de rencontrer Martina Navratilova une des meilleures joueuses de tous les temps...

The swatch pro is done, not a great result again I was kind of frustrated for that one, I was second the whole heat but the other girl in my heat got a last minute wave and made it in front of me... It's been hard for me to find rythm in heats this year and it's definitely something I've got to work on but the next comp in Portugal is coming next week so I guess I'll just put it all behind and stay positive.
The event was amazing, the people at Swatch really did a great job, helicopter filming, great food at the contest site, it was huge for a female surfing event and a lot of people showed up to watch the comp so everyone was happy. Can't wait for next year!

Wow I feel like I havent posted in ages. Well Im at hossegor right now for the swatch girls pro, hanging out with the girls at the quik house. Waves are massive right now but I'm pretty sure I will be on tomorrow 4th heat of the day. Im feeling good for that comp, got good boards, I know it sounds pretty cliche but it does make a difference in a heat!

Roland Garros...

So I haven't given real news for a while, but all is good here in France we had non stop swells and nice weather, it's pretty much the perfect time to be in Biarritz right now!
Last week I taught a tennis player Bethanie Mattek-Sands how to surf, which was really fun she was able to get a couple of good waves, but now she needs to teach me how to play tennis in Roland Garros (the french open) which is probably going to be really funny... Because I suck at tennis!
I'm going there with Sally Fitzgibbons so it should be a fun little trip in the city.
I think theres going to be a video of it and will post it as soon as I get it...

Juste quelques news en francais, la semaine derniere j'ai eu la chance d'apprendre a surfer a une des meilleures "tennis woman" du monde Bethanie Mattek, c'etait cool elle a eu quelques bonnes vagues a la cote des basques, et demain je pars a Roland Garros ou elle va m'apprendre a jouer au tennis avec Sally.. Ca risque d'etre assez drole vu mon niveau en tennis!

Aujourd'hui les conditions etaient plutot bonnes vers St Jean De Luz, j'ai donc fait deux sessions a Lafitenia avec Greg Rabejac qui shootait (d'ailleurs merci Greg pour les photos!). Lafite est LA vague pour s'entrainer aux cut backs, par contre un peu dur d'etre vertical la bas! mais c'etait une bonne session.

Ca y est je commence a retrouver ma petite vie a Biarritz, j' ai surfe deux fois a Marbella aujourd'hui (et hier et avant hier), revu pleins d' amis, mange des chocolatines et croissants (pas trop quand meme). Today there was no waves so I played a little bit of guitar and found a little jam I used to play with Steph Gilmore, and then me and my friend Christina made some words to it and I changed a couple of things, its a work in progress and I havent been singing for ages so my voice kinda sucks but it's cool to do diferent things sometimes. Got the good news yesterday that Roxy will do a WT in Biarritz in July and I will get the wild card! It's like a dream come true to me and I'm so amped to do good. There's also going to be free shows concerts and we are going to do a projection of my movie TITAN KIDS so I'm realy excited for that event.... check out more info on roxy.com !

just a little message before i go to desert point with no internet or phone service!
today we had the best session me, Andre, Davi Do Carmo and Hugues Oyarzabal. We surfed a secret spot so I cant really tell where it is but we had to go down a huge cliff I almost fell three times, but once we got there we saw the most perfect little lefts rolling and we knew we would have a good time... Cool to surf with only your friends out!
Tomorrow we might try to surf keramas and the take the ferry to lombok and try to score one of the best lefts in the world. Dont know if its going to work but I'm really excited to go! Crossing fingers....

So my trip in australia is almost over but I have to say we are going to finish it well because I'm going tomorrow with Andre, Pauline, Amandine and Jessi to the Supafest in Perth watch Snoop Dogg and Nelly amongst others, live. Thats going to be a crazy night.
Other good news:
1- Im going to Bali on my way home, never visited the place so I'm super excited to surf good lefts and practice tube riding.
2-My sponsor Orange asked me to chose a famous person to teach them how to surf.... Got any idea for me? Should be sick anyway...

Well, today is not the best day at the office for me, I just lost 2nd round at Margaret.
It sucks because every single wave I took was a close out. hard times!
Contests are kind of making me depressed this year, sometimes I just want to follow the swells and surf crazy waves all year, I don't get any satisfaction competing but maybe its because I lose too much!
Anyway apart from that I'm having a lot of fun traveling and I am really finding my rhythm doing it, not feeling home sick or anything, so I guess thats cool.
Maybe I'll get more luck and confidence at some point this year, but for now I'm going to look for good spots to freesurf here in WA maybe try to make some photos….

Gas Bay action

Today the trials started here so we thought about waking up early to surf before the comp, but then we decided it would be way more fun to just wake up late, chill a little bit and then go to Gas Bay to see what the swell had to offer.
When we got there I saw my Dad in his car in the parking lot. Yes I see my dad in really random places sometimes especially if you know I haven't seen him since february and my phone was off. So it was a good surprise, I surfed the right with my bros Frank and Pat for a while, then we came in and they went to surf a little left breaking right on the rock. I just sat and cleaned my board while I was watching the show: them trying to avoid the huge rock in the middle of the wave. Frank got from far the best wipe out I wish I'd filmed that.
That's it, just some random facts from this trip.

Just got in Margaret, I've always liked this place because it's super calm and beautiful, I guess coming here after the goldcoast is nice because we get to surf powerful waves and get the bigger boards out of the bag. My 6'1 is probably all rotten and full of spiderwebs it's been in the bag for so long! Hopefully we get waves, and if we don't you'll see me at the winery!

That session was good the waves were pretty much perfect but we realized that it was not a secret bank... 100 surfers of all kinds rocked up at the same time and it was a fight to get waves but I got a couple. Mon sejour a Byron Bay est fini, la fin etait un peu bizarre car on a appris le deces d'un de nos amis de Titanzinho Thiago Dias, qui a ete assassine devant le spot alors qu'il s' appretait a entrer a l'eau. C'est dur de croire qu'un des gamins avec qui on surfait tous les jours est mort dans ces conditions et qu'on ne le verra plus a l'eau. Il a ete assassine par trois adolescent de 14 ans environ.... Tellement de choses doivent changer et ca nous motive a travailler encore plus avec notre association la bas ( Surf and Hope) alors on se creuse la tete pour trouver des choses nouvelles a faire... J'enverrai des news la dessus.
Je suis a l'aeroport de Sydney prete a m'envoler vers Perth, pour le deuxieme wqs de l'annee Margaret River,

Hey all
I am still in Byron Bay we rented a big house with all the crazy longboarders and artists Kassia Meador, Jarred Mel, Pandora Decoster, Dane Peterson, Alex Knost and Alex Kopps, Kyle Lightner, Leah Dawson, Ryan Heywood etc etc...
It's been an inspiration to hang out with them because they have a really different vision of surfing, I tried longboarding and really sucked at it but after when I got back on my shortboard I had the feeling I was flying...
We got super fun waves but one day it was rainy and bad so we edited a funny video with Kassia, you have to check it out!

Hey I lost in the 3rd round of the comp in Newcastle, I had a very close heat, we couldnt hear the scores and I got good waves but unfortunately not enough to make it. I got like the wave of my life and got a 5 but thats ok i guess next one will be better.
So Kassia sent me an email the day after I lost asking me if I wanted to drive to Byron Bay with her and her friend Kyle Lightner, and i was happy to move on to the next episode of my australian trip.
They were supposed to sleep in my hotel room but I fell asleep and didnt have any service on my phone so they had to sleep in the car outside of the hotel. that was kinda funny.
We did the 6 hour drive and now were pretty settled in a big house in Byron just waiting to score good waves. Dane Peterson is here too so were going to shoot some photos hopefully I get good stuff.

apres deux jours de voyages, je suis bien arrivee a Newcastle, aus. pour participer au WQS 6 etoiles qui a lieu ici.
Les vagues sont assez difficiles et peu de houle en prevision, mais j'ai une bonne planche qui avance bien, la K-Whip de channel Island et cela devrait m'aider. La competition commance demain, pour regarder le live cliquez ici!

I am at the airport in Rio, just made it to Brasil after a horrible trip.
2 days ago I went to LAX to check in for my flight 3 hours early, I asked a lady if I was standing in the right line and she said yes.
Then it felt like the waiting was extremely long for a check in, so after 2 hours I went to ask that same lady if I should go somewhere else, and she said to me with a smile: "Oh you just missed it".
Ok i admit I cried. Only a little. Only after I yelled all my anger at that total bitch.
And then I waited one more hour and a half so they could put me on next days flight.
Sometimes thats the way it goes when you travel! Anyway now Im safe in Brasil going to stay in Titanzinho for 2 weeks and get ready for my first comp in Australia in March.
My little bro Patrick gave me three boards to give to the kids over there they are going to be frothing. Should be fun to see them surf some miniature Al Merricks!

Hey everyone,
I am posting from Santa Barbara, we got the best waves here at rincon, so good my legs were burning at the end of each wave because the ride was too long! Been hanging out with Sally, Rosy, Kassia, Bruna and all the crew that is working for the photoshoot, we're getting some good pics in for the Fall 2011 catalog!
Today I had to go surf just in denim and t shirt, without wetsuit and I was freezing because normally I surf with 3'2 and booties here. I got some fun waves and the footage was cool so it was worth the suffering!
I also got to hang out with the crew from Rockstar Energy Drink which was really fun too.

aujourd'hui je vais ecrire en francais pour une fois...
Ca y est je suis partie du Bresil, j'ai quitte ce pays magique pour ma deuxieme maison: la Californie.
Je commencais a me sentir presque chez moi j'ai meme commence a suivre les novelas et big brother...
Mais c'est avec fierte qu'en sortant de l'avion j'ai appris que l equipe de France de foot a battu le Bresil! je vais pouvoir chambrer!
La je suis chez mon pere et j'attend que le photoshoot Roxy a Rincon commence. Je pense aussi profiter d'etre ici pour faire du shopping, surfer des vagues differentes et passer un bon moment avec les autres surfeuses du team.

Surf And Hope update

Hi all,
I've been in Titanzinho, Fortaleza, for the last couple of days. Before comming back here I was a little anxious because it had been 6 month since I last came and was wondering if everything was alright with the kids there, and if our project advanced since we left.
But when we arrived we had a warm welcome from our friends as always, and we had some good surprises: Camilla, Juju, Davi and Dudu had found a sponsor, the surf club had gotten bigger with a second floor and spare rooms for the kids... I was really stoked to see everyone happy here.

We also did the Titan Kids movie premiere here in Titanzinho, and we were lucky to have Manu Chao as a special guest.
I've always been a big fan of his music and to meet him for real was like a dream. He is a very humble person and true inspiration...
We showed him the favela and the surfclub, and he stayed for the movie and then played some songs for everybody, we had a few drinks and grilled fish. Amazing night! here are the photos...

and big thanks to all the people who believe in our project and have helped us to make all of this happen! I hope we can live a lot of good moments like these in the future and help more kids get into surfing...

Itajai was such a fun trip, we took a bus for 16 hours to get there from Rio but it was definetely worth it! The first and second day we got perfect barrels at Praia Brava un fortunately I didnt connect with the photographer but here are some photos of that day... Perfection!

On the way back we went throught Sao Paulo, had to stop for 4 hours because of the flood the streets looked liked Venice, no more road, just the water. Theres been the biggest disaster of the history of Brasil just a few days ago here in Rio, the rain took many houses away and neighbourhoods are completely submerged by the mud.

I hvent posted for almost a month so i thought i would first say: Happy New Year to all,
and give some news: I've been in Brasil for the whole time since hawaii, new year was super fun in rio, then went down south for a swell in Itajai and we pretty much scored: barrels for 3 days.
I had the news i didnt get the wildcard, they gave it to Jessi Miley Dyer who really deserved it, but I am still a little disapointed but at least I know that I am preparing to get back on the WQS next year, if I've qualified once it means I can do it again so we'll see.
I should go in to days on a trip to a secret spot somewhere in Africa,,... Will keep you posted with that!

end of the season

Here comes the end of the season again,
after a week off, Sunset finished in 3 ft waves at the point. Waves were pretty fun but I had a hard time finding them and unfortunately I lost in the quarters. I was feeling really good when the waves were big there and loved my 6'10 gun but you can't always get what you want!
So this year is over and I finished in 12th place, 2 spots away from requalification... It's not over yet because I am asking for the wildcard, even though it's going to be hard to get it because Jessi Miley Dyer got a pretty bad injury this year too and so did Amee Donohoe...
Anyway if I had to get back on the wqs I think next year can only be better for me in contests,
This year was an interesting one with highs and lows, my first year on tour, the biggest injury of my career in May, I also directed a movie with my boyfriend which was an amazing experience, then I had a really fun time at the end in Portugal, Puerto and Hawaii.
I've made a few changes in my life and I think next year will be a good one...
I also signed with Rockstar Energy Drink which is great news, I am really stoked to be in the team and I like the vibe of this brand. I should do some cool stuff with them too next year.
So for now I am in Brazil and planning to enjoy my time off season, should be cool,

tout va bien ici à Hawaii, j'ai passé ma première série deuxieme derrière Steph, j'ai failli la battre mais elle a pris un 7,5 a la fin et m'est repassée devant! enfin ça sera pour la prochaine fois. C'est ferié ici aujourd'hui mais la competition devrait recommencer demain. J'ai bien envie d'un résultat pour être avec Pauline l'année prochaine dans le WWT/ Au fait Félicitation Popo pour ta qualif!

The Haleiwa contest has started and I've had a good time watching all the action...
My Dad is surfing the event in a Clash of the Legends, three heats against Sunny Garcia, Tom Carrol, and Occy.
Yesterday's heat was amazing everyone was ripping and my Dad won, eventhough there was a pretty stressful moment where he did a triangle on Sunny and we could see from the webcast that he was pretty pissed. They did another heat today and my Dad got second, so we will see what happens tomorrow in their last heat. Go for it!

bonjour a tous
ça y est le trip de Porto Rico se termine. Ca m' a vraiment fait du bien de faire un long surf trip dans un endroit ou il y a des vagues tout les jours et l'eau est à 27°C! surtout depuis que je peux surfer sans douleur et sans crainte.
J'ai fait une bonne competition aussi pour la première fois cette année j'ai atteint les quarts de finale, et j'ai perdu de très peu ce qui est à la fois rageant et encourageant... (le jeu de mot haha)
Steph a gagné un quatrième titre ce qui était cool à voir c'est une de mes meilleures amies sur le tour et une inspiration et ça motive vraiment toutes les autres filles à s'entraîner pour aller la challenger.
ET bien sûr un dixième titre de Kelly, le divin chauve a encore frappé, il a fait l'impossible.
Donc une super expèrience à Puerto, malgré tout le chagrin causé par la perte d'Andy Irons au milieu de la compète. Mais tout le monde s'est dit que la meilleure façon d'honorer sa vie est de faire ce qu'on aime, surfer et vivre chaque moment à fond.
Aujourd'hui je suis à Hawaii sur le North Shore d'Oahu et il n'y apas trop de vagues mais ça fait du bien de se reposer un peu.
J'espère faire un gros resultat à Sunset sur la dernière compétition de l'année...

La cérémonie en l'honneur d'Andy hier était vraiment triste pour tout le monde, ses amis proches, fans, autres surfeurs du tour.
Il a changé le monde du surf et ce ne sera plus jamais la même chose sans lui... voila la video de la journée d'hier:

I just opened my computer and couldn't believe what i saw on the news: one of the world greatest surfer Andy Irons died today.
this makes me feel so sad because it was my favorite surfer, always ripping when he came to france, super stylish, mellow and humble. We will miss you too much Andy, rest in peace... aloha
